Three Disc Challenge

The skies were blue the temperature about 73 degrees and the rest of the family was napping. A good time for a round of disc golf. During the mist and rain we've had over the past few days I had accidentally left my disc bag out in the back yard. I didn't want to carry around the wet bag, and I had been thinking of trying the course with just a few discs anyway. So I set myself the three disc challenge.
I picked the Millenium Aurora MS approach disc (179g), the Pro Line Beast (171g), and the KC Banshee (170g). The Aurora is one that G gave me as it just didn't work in any part of his game.

My first drive off the pad was less than stellar, but a nice approach made par easy. At two the water was up a little. I didn't have the floater with me, so I figured I'd throw the approach disc out away to the right. Well the approach disc was the heaviest of the three I took with me, and I guess that may have factored in to the early release. Yeah, early release means it went left. After four throws I was facing the Two Disc Challenge.
I stood abreast of where I thought the disc had gone in and threw my second shot. This with the Beast. It looked okay until the wind stood it on its edge and it went rolling down the hill in to the water. As I ran up, I saw the last ripples fading. I flopped down on my chest and began to feel around the leafy bottom. Though it drops away pretty quick there I didn't think the disc hit the water with very much velocity. Nonetheless I found no disc.
I almost turned away to try to finish the course with one disc. But I spied a small branch on the ground nearby and I used it to prod the unseen depths. After a short bit of poking I hit something smooth. I reached down and came up with a blue Z plastic Predator with the name Cong on the back, but no phone number. Nice disc. My success gave me hope, and sure enough a few pokes and several ant bites later I had my Beast back. Not the same three discs I started with, but I'll trade a nine dollar disc for a fifteen dollar one most anytime.
At hole six, I took no chances and went way left around the water. At hole nine I caught up with a fairly large group of golfers. They told me to go ahead and play through. I guess one courtesy begets another. "Any of you guys Cong?" "I know Cong." Oh well. Back to the two disc challenge. Next time I'll choose a floater, even if I'm only going to throw it 3 times.
I wish I could say that my kindness appeased the course gods. Such was not the case. The wind picked up at that point and so did my throw count. I ended up 11 over: 010 000 101  011 220 101.

This was great. Very nicely written too.

Hey, you lost my disk, huh? Freakin hole two. We hates it. It burns us.

I'm sorry man, but I do not think you were obligated to mention Cong at all. No number no disk, in my book. Odds are good the guy was lying to you, too.

However, thank the Lord you didn't lose that sweet Beast. I want one. I will have one.

Well, actually before I got past them, while I was still playing nine, the guy I gave the disk to spotted Cong, called out to him and returned the disk. There was some tournament play happening, I think because I ran in to a couple of large groups.
