Spell "y" in Spanish

My kids have a Spanish language CD. The first song features the alphabet. If like me you didn't know, the Spanish include four extra "letters": ch, ll, rr, and ñ for a total of thirty. Most of them are not too hard to make out. The one between equis and zeta is maybe the least clear to my gringo ears.

Like most Scrabble players I know that in English this letter is spelled "wye." It just occured to me while writing this post that because of a popular beer I knew the spelling of "x" and "zeta" can't be spelled too many ways either. By Googling this pair of words I quickly found the answer to the question I started this to pose: "i griega."
